Braided Packing

Style #427

Maximum values-temperature, pH and speed-should not be combined on any one application without careful consultation. Common sense balancing of factors is always wise.

As with any product designed to operate in critical operations, this product and its installation must be clearly understood. In addition, the user should have full knowledge of the operating considerations of the equipment in which it is to be installed.
Construction
STYLE 427 is a very dense combination of PTFE Graphite yarn with an inert filler and blocking agent, braided in the interbraided construction, with internal zinc wire strategically placed for effective corrosion inhibition.

Characteristics
A highly chemically resistant packing, all materials in STYLE 427 are sacrificial or chemically inert. Useful in fixed, rising stem, and control valves, mixers, agitators, plungers and rod applications. STYLE 427 experiences less than half the thermal expansion associated with pure Teflon valve packings and aids in minimizing stem bite. STYLE 427 is easy to cut and dimensionally correct, avoiding the need for die forming. STYLE 427 has an infinite shelf life, as there are no lubricants to dry out, STYLE 427 is very effective in cryogenic service such as de-waxing units.
