Braided Packing
Style #303
Maximum values-temperature, pH and speed-should not be combined on any one application without careful consultation. Common sense balancing of factors is always wise. As with any product designed to operate in critical operations, this product and its installation must be clearly understood. In addition, the user should have full knowledge of the operating considerations of the equipment in which it is to be installed. |
Construction
Interlock braided of graphite yarn having a minimum purity of 99.6%. The yarn contains no PTFE coating or impregnation. A mixture of fine graphite particles is applied to the yarn serving as a lubricant during braiding and a filling sealant after forming. Characteristics Due to the specific material characteristics, Style 303 can be used where no PTFE is allowed in the installation and/or when the leachable chloride level is specified as less than 100 PPM (less than 50 PPM on special order). Highly chemical-resistant with excellent heat conductivity. A very anti-frictional packing effective on the widest variety of services. Dimensionally stable up to design temperatures. Permits operation at minimal leakage. Non-hardening. High length yield per pound. Reported Values of Performance
